Individual Lessons and Grade Exams

Fiona Firth is a highly respected teacher of singing. She believes in an uncomplicated, down-to-earth approach to singing technique, which allows freedom and versatility.  This in turn gives singers confidence in their individual ability and makes them powerful communicators.

Her aim is to achieve this at all levels, from beginners to advanced, in a relaxed, open and supportive environment in which students are able to push their own personal boundaries.

Her students have had successes in attaining choral scholarships to Westminster School and Salisbury Cathedral School, as well as attaining music scholarships to Collet Court and Bryanston School.

Fiona prepares many students each year for Associated Board examinations from grades 2 -8 and for diplomas. This includes thorough training in aural and sight-singing.

She also teaches professional bands and pop singers who are looking to adopt a reliable technique.

"Fiona’s teaching is full of imagination and humour, and I particularly value the way in which she understands what styles and sounds I am aiming for, adapting her methods to suit my individual needs and requirements."

Josepha – Dr., Phd – University Lecturer in Music - Surrey

"Voice technical problems partly caused by professional chorus work hindered me from continuing with my solo work and I was considering ending my singing career. Fiona brought me back on the 'right track'.  I am pleased I now have a secure vocal technique, one that I can rely on even in difficult situations."
